Calculators

Our mortgage calculators offer a great starting point and general insight, but for a complete picture, it’s best to consult with our expert mortgage advisers.

Mortgage Calculators

Our intuitive mortgage calculators are designed to answer your pressing questions such as ‘how much can I borrow?’ and ‘what will my repayments be?’. They’re an excellent first step in your mortgage exploration, providing a snapshot of your options.

However, for a comprehensive understanding tailored to your unique financial situation, a conversation with our expert advisors is invaluable. They can offer bespoke advice, taking you beyond the numbers to find the perfect mortgage solution for you.

How much can I borrow?

Calculate the maximum you can borrow.

How much will it cost?

Estimate your total monthly mortgage costs.

How much can I borrow on a Buy To Let?

How much Stamp Duty will I pay?

Calculate the Stamp Duty you’ll need to pay on purchase.

The calculator will provide you with an approximation of how much you’re likely to be able to borrow however this amount will vary from lender to lender and will also depend on things like your monthly credit commitments.

Your mortgage is probably going to be your biggest outgoing each month and it’s important to know that your mortgage is affordable both now and in the future.

The amount you can borrow on a buy to let mortgage is mainly based on the monthly rental you are getting or are likely to get.

Most lenders will also expect a down payment of between 25 to 40% of the property value.

Tax is payable when you purchase a property above a certain value. In England and Northern Ireland it’s called Stamp Duty Land Tax and is payable for purchases above £250,000, though currently first-time buyers are exempt for properties up to £425,000.

There is also a 3% surcharge for additional properties such as second homes or buy to let.
